Another perfect fit. Sold 20 of these so far and installed several more myself. Perfect fit. Fits with the rear step bumber. Made from heavy aluminium so does provide some protection but is meant as a cradle. Does have the tank location rod just like the genuine item....

Looks great. Why did you go with the rod instead of just bending the cradle? Is the rod aluminum?

The rod is what keeps the gas tank in the correct position and is welded onto the plate at the proper spot. Without the rod the gas tank does not stay in position. The rod is thick wall aluminium tube.

Oh the slick rock ones and the RN one just had a bend in the plate instead of the tube

Truthfully did not think about bending the plate. But the recess in the tank fits nice over the tube. I wanted to be sure there where no mods and the tank fit perfectly. The tube does not increase the cost that much so will leave mine with the tube I guess. My version also works with the rear anti sway bar.

The tube is good, don't change it.:)
Its the way it should be built, and the way we have been doing ours for over a decade. We have replaced a couple tanks that were rubbed through from movement on other tank guards that just have a bent lip.

I'm interested in one of these skid plates...do you still have them available? Can you tell me how thick the plate is?

Just got mine in the mail. Very pleased with it's design. I'm looking forward to putting it all back together once I get the new crossmember in.
