Let me preface this by stating I have just started to work on the 90 and have no electrical experience what so ever!

So, it's a gorgous sunny day in Chi town, I finally get have some time to work on the truck. I planned on putting Hella H4 lamps in my rig. So I start by removing the all the running lights and tried to get the black plastic headlamp covers off. The running lights came off easily, but I the last two screws holding the cover on the front of the wings are seized in place. No big deal, I decided to get some PB and soak them. Reassemble the lights get everything back together and test the lights. The top running light doesn't work. Bulb is OK. Headlight works as does the directional. The wire was taught to the top running light. I had to remove the horn to actually get the connection back in place.

Do I need to get a test light to see if I accidentally pulled a wire? I would be really pissed if I had to have any wiring done...

And while I'm venting, why the hell is it so involved to replace a the front lamps? Damn!

Thanks,

EwS

You should be able to see if the wires are connected by opening the hood and looking under the wing at the back of the headlight. If you don't have one then get a multi Meter! Well worth the investment when you own a Land Rover.
