All,
Just back from Lovelock, NV and the NVTR2. We entered the two family Defenders this time as a team -- Adam's (Wicks) d90 and my 110, with son Jason (95LWB) as primary navigator and a good friend, Beamer Hodge, as nav in the 90 with Adam. Redundant GPS'd laptops in both trucks which we sync'd via crossover cable (truck to truck) just before the start so we had matching waypoint files. We finished as First Place team!
The 110 took First Place overall by taking First Place on a 10.5 mile rally stage, run at 11PM Saturday night over some crazy rock-strewn white-knuckle shelf roads. (If you know the area, it was basically the tour from the 399 down into the rock gardens on the west side of the Trinities, south across the rock fields, east up past the Eagle Picher Mine, then up over Trinity Peak and back down to the 399 again.) Adam's 90 was only one minute behind us, to finish 2nd on the stage and 2nd overall!
Lots of vid footage that will be edited together soon, including night running on Bluewing Flat.
