Anyone have experience painting over hot dipped parts? Recommendations?

Don't you need to etch it then use a special primer?

Yes you can paint over primer! All you need is primer that is made for that purpose. I sanded my parts after galv to smooth the coated surface. I will try to post pic's of the finshed product.

Galvanized material, I have been repeatedly told, outgasses and if you use certain "sealed" paints (someone mentioned powder coat finishes), then the outgassing will bubble the surface. I have not checked out this information, but if I was to paint over galvanized material, I certainly would....FWIW
