Keep the "rare" items?

About 2 months ago I bought a "limited edition" '94 D90 (first pic). Since then, I have removed the side steps, front bumper, center console (for a tuffy) and a few other things (second pic)

My question is, should I keep the "limited" pieces in storage like the stainless side steps and bull bar? Or should I sell them to fund other Rover related purchases (like rock sliders, which I really "need"?

You wont get jack for the used items and if you ever sell it you WILL be asked if you still have the parts to return it to original. Keep the parts and make sure that whatever you do the replacement parts don't mess up the return to original fitting. You'll thank yourself later. Trust me. I had a nicely modded 90 that when I sold it I could have got more if I could have returned it to original. I threw out the old parts because they were exactly that, old, and I replaced them with tougher parts.

There were only a 100 of those trucks made, right? Stainless accents and leather seats? I would keep the parts, in case you ever do sell the truck, a stock truck with the correct parts will sell for more.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, only around 100 made. The seats were leather and it had stainless bits as well.

Interesting thing I didn't know is that the visors and other pieces of the dash (including the dome light pieces) also had a synthetic leather cover on them. And the door panels are a cardboard type material wrapped in synthetic leather. Beauty of that is, they are in perfect shape with none of the typical cracking associated with the plastic ones.

The steps and a bar didnt come on the truck. I think they were options. At least the options catalog make me think that. I have seen them on ebay before so if you want to sell go for it., you can always get them again. The problem is I have no clue who wold buy them from you

Lift it a bit more, tires look a bit cramped in those wheel wells.

I have never seen one with the bits then again this crap was new 16 years ago so there is the slightest possibilty people modified their trucks.

I plan on it, that is the next project. In fact, that is what I would use the funds for if I were to sell some more parts.

Great advice all around. But I will never sell this one (this is my 4th Defender and I have said it about all of them) :) so keeping the bits seems like wasted space and funds. But in the long run, it will probably be worth it.

We could do a repeat of your last D90. Sell the stuff to me. I will think I will definitely use it. However it will sit in my garage for a few years, and then I can sell it to the next owner of your truck when I realize it is just taking space. You will point him/her in the right direction, as you did last time. They can turn the truck back to original using the original parts of the truck.

My wife will think I am crazy again.
