Hi folks,
Completed my truck yesterday:cool:
About 8 weeks ago I had a damn rollover on the highway. Had a trailer in the back w/ a BMW 525 on it. While driving a turn the trailer started fishtailing and then passed the Defender. At the same moment the Defender fell to the left side, slew on the ground and finally stoped in the ditch with the wheels on the top. Not the best feeling if you are inside but for god's sake I didn't get hurt. Called a friend of mine who owns a company that is specialized on heavy loads. He came w/ an 18-wheeler and a crane on it. Less than an hour and everything was on my yard...
Here are some photos of the Defender as it was on the morning after the rollover, the rebuild and as it was yesterday. It's not completed yet as I will make a new roof rack and some other modifications.

Take care - Robert

Nice work, is that a factory land rover mat in the bed?

Wow, amazing. Defender saves another life. I have to make friends with people "who specialized in heavy loads" :grin. Glad you're OK and that you didn't scrap the truck.

I get so jealous of people who have space to work in. My garage has maybe 2 feet of clearance on either side.

You're jealous of his workspace...I'm jealous he lives in a country that can get brand new Defenders...

@evilfij: no, this is bulk rubber material you can get over here.

@specops1526: I'd never buy a new defender. The 300tdi was nearly the best engine they ever installed (except the 3.9 V8 as it was installed on the NAS110 - the green one on picture 4 got already one installed + AT). Td5 and Td4 have too many electronics for a Defender...
What I was suprised about is the crazy prices people pay over there for a used Defender (sometimes double or more than somebody would pay over here). I will move to the US beginning August and stay there at least for the rest of the year. I wanted to buy a Defender over there but for those prices - NEVER!!!

@mightymg: yes, this was my first thought on the morning after the rollover too. The truck didn't look too bad for a dive into the ditch at that speed...

You can import the 1984 to the US! It is more than 25 years old.

Yeah, just bring it along. Maybe sell it to an Ameri can for a dumb profit!
