As I was mulling over purchasing the FounD90, I had a Richard Dreyfus/Close Encounters of the Third Kind moment, and built this one morning with the kids.

Sorry for the mediocre photos, the kids drove the Lego Defender off a cliff before I could photograph it proper. It's in queue at the Lego equivalent of ECR waiting a couple years for it's turn to be restored.:)

I have Lego shame in comparison. Of course mind did have a winch ;)

One of these days I'll try it again.

Steve - just looked at your avatar - is that Terrapin Station on your plates?

Yes sir- indeed it is!

It throws alot of people off- I think people dont expect to find a Dead Head driving a Rover...or serving in the Army for that matter.

Nice! Me too, well, not the army part, but the deadhead part. On the bus nearly 25 years now! I actually wanted a VW Microbus, but the D90 was too cool to pass up.

I wanted to get "D Head" on my plates, as a double entendre about the Defender and the Dead, but I chickened out.

Nothing wrong with a Deadhead in a Defender. :party

There's probably more of us around in the woodwork - there always are!

Very cool- I never got to see Jerry, but have seen Furthur- all great shows.

I am guessing there are more out there- every now and then I get a wave or a thumbs up and "nice plate" - usually- people have no clue what it means....which is cool too.

Great build youve got going on over there- Ive been watching it for months- so glad to see the old girl come back from "the dead"

Ha! That's funny, I saw the Terrapin in your avatar and then Army in your signature too. Seems fitting to me that you would end up in a defender. It is the ultimate camper-mobile!

I actually got passed by a bus the other day. The girl driving it was so proud to actually pass someone! It makes me really want that 200tdi

Maybe more people get Terrapin Station than I think...ive gotten a few "Tripping Steven"? Comments.

My Defender will do 70 or so on the highway - but after that....it gets kind of dicey.

I had a Suzuki Samurai in high school....i got passed by everything- id just grin and bear it---something I learned from my dad riding in his Series down the highway.

I want a Tdi so I can get better fuel economy- maybe one day.
