any chance we can get this -> http://www.berryblab.com/Network.aspx installed?

I'd like to possibly use the Vbulletin app offered by berryblab.com instead of the Blackberry browser.

Ok Blackberry users... go get the device plugin and see if it works. I dont have a BB so I cant check it. The site is not listed in the public directory so the forum link is http://www.d-90.com/forum/

Going to see how Forum Runner works on the iPhone now.

------ Follow up post added July 25th, 2010 10:00 PM ------

Doesn't appear that d-90 is in the vbulletin - Forum Runner application.

Thats because the request here was for the BerryBlab app, not for Forum Runner.

Give me a little bit.. looking at seeing whats involved with the forumrunner install

Yeah weird. A message popped up on my phone while browsing that this site is now supported by that app, but I can't find it in the search within the app. It probably takes some time to show up on there or something.

Thanks Chris!

Our name is The D-90 Source Forum. It comes up on the last page of the search when you search for it.

Test from the app

Ok looks like the ForumRunner is working. As you saw, the site is privately listed and will show up if you search for 'D-90 Source'

If one of the BB users can check that BerryBlab is working I will make some announcements with the info

Thanks all for the suggestions

This is going to be awesome if we can post pics from our iPhones now. Don't know how many times I've wanted to post a pic while out at my car.

Yes I tested it last night after I upgraded to the full version on my phone. Theres been a few times I wanted to do that as well. :)

Thanks again, Chris. Pretty cool app. Still figuring it out though. I see you're already looking to hook up some of your other forums to it as well.

Thanks for the suggestion.. funny enough I had just been looking at ForumRunner after I read up on the BB app and wondered if there was an iPhone type app. I had closed out of their page and then saw you mentioned them so I gave them another look!

Yeah I really like it. I have one forum thats closed to non-members and asked the developed how the app would handle that.

I was also looking at the Branding option for the app to the D-90 Source so people dont have to pay for the full version and all the other benefits of paying for the branding as a d90 source stand alone app. I know there are a lot of iPhone users here so it might be worth it, not too mention pretty cool to have a devoted app for the site.

Just waiting on the BB users to give BerryBlab a go..

Hey Chris,
Thanks very much for doing this.

viewing works very well on my BB Bold, posting requires the registered version.
I'll post back once I buy it.

Posting from BB, this works great.

With the iPhone app there are a few things I'm trying to figure or have noticed so far.

1) It appears to be shrinking my pics to 800X800 or smaller from my iPhone library. I don't see how to change that from my settings in the app.

2) The app will mark a thread as read when viewing in the app, but when between the app and the actual site, a thread I have read in the app does not show as read in my browser.

3) When forum is added to my favorites, no picture for our forum is displayed as icon thumbnail.

4) Must enter the first page of a thread before moving along to other pages in a thread with multiple pages.

With the iPhone app there are a few things I'm trying to figure or have noticed so far. Keep in mind, some things may not be adjustable due to the coding from the developer.

1) It appears to be shrinking my pics to 800X800 or smaller from my iPhone library. I don't see how to change that from my settings in the app.I'm seeing this too. Looks to be the apps doing it, not a setting adjustment.

2) The app will mark a thread as read when viewing in the app, but when between the app and the actual site, a thread I have read in the app does not show as read in my browser. You may need to give that up to 15 minutes. vBulletin sometimes retains the unread flag for up to 15 - 30 minutes even if you read it.

3) When forum is added to my favorites, no picture for our forum is displayed as icon thumbnail.Hmm.. mine does. Its a square icone with 'D-90' in it. Try removing it and re-adding the site to favorites?

4) Must enter the first page of a thread before moving along to other pages in a thread with multiple pages.Mine will display the first post in an existing thread but when I tap it, it takes me to the first unread post in the thread.

I dont know if some of these issues you are seeing could be related to differences in the free app vs paid app or what. I'm using the $1.99 full feature app. But I did test with the free version and I had the site icon show up that I made so again, not really sure what might be going on.

Keep posting feedback and I can look up issue on the developers site as I have chances. They were pretty quick to reply to my question I asked over there before so I can always ask there.

alright! hooked up and on berryblab. thanks!!

now if there was just some way that it would sound an alarm when a part comes up for sale that i need.
maybe the sound of a horn?
or a cash register?
or homer simpson..... just some ideas in the off chance the developer is part of this forum.

I installed the app on my BB and found the forum fine...I can see the forum categories and can drill in to see the threads but when I try to open a thread I get the following error

org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Unexpected end of file.

anyone else have this problem? anyone know how to fix it?

Did it try opening it for some time? May have timed out?

no, the error is pretty immediate. I tried logging back in to BerryBlab to see if it would make a difference if I registered but nothing...do I have to pay for the full version? I am trying the old pull the battery and see if it fixes itself trick!

I would say go visit the developers website linked above and check the questions/FAQ section for that error. I seem to remember that type being mentioned.

I just got that error too, exited berryblab, restarted and was able to post this.

When in doubt restart your BB

If that fixed it, cool. If not post back and I can email them. I just looked and they didnt have anything in their FAQ for that problem.

As an after thought, do you guys want that sign off line "Posted from my BlackBerry using BerryBlab (http://www.berryblab.com/)" in your posts? It's generated from the config file on the server but I can take it out/change it if you all like.

Restarting didn't fix it...I may try buying the $2 version later today but not sure if that is going to make a difference.

Here is how you change the picture upload resizing settings:

Go to the iPhone Settings > Forum Runner > Attachment Size (Mine says Attachment Quality)

lol.. i forgot to look there too before I posted the question on their forum. As soon as they posted back how to do it I kicked myself for not looking there first too.

I just tested that and set mine for 800px and it worked:

Jeff thanks I will pass that update along to the developer. I spoke with him today and he was going to look at the apps files on the server to see if could tell what might be causing your problem.

Is anyone else with a BB having the same problem?

hillstrubl
July 28th, 2010, 10:47 PM
I've gotten it once or twice, closing the app then restarting typically fixes it.
I had to actually reboot the BB 1 time though.

Is anyone having trouble with Berryblab? I got a new BB recently and after installing Berryblab, I cannot add D-90 to the forum list. It gives me an error and tells me to make sure the forum administrator has installed Berryblab. With the transition, did this service get terminated?
