Just putting out a feeler here. If we were to produce extruded aluminum (no steal)door bottoms for the 2nd row (rear passenger doors) on the 110's and 130's of the 2 piece door designs who would be interested in buying them? I wanted them to produce a 110 5 door soft top. Obviously they would have to be at a reasonable price and year they would last forever. I put a similar group together to produce 101FC door tops out of extruded aluminum, so with enough interest I know it can be done.

I would be interested in a pair for my 110. It would have to be reasonable though, or I would just repair my current ones with new door channels. Will it accommodate the sliding glass top?

They would be just like the originals but have no steal in them just an extruded aluminum frame. Door tops would fit as usual

can you not make the rollup style also?

The 1 piece roll up window doors are still being produced . (although not in extruded aluminum )

So are you saying there is a need for an extruded aluminum 1 piece door with roll windows also ? (front rears ? )

there is a need for rear one piece doors, that replicate the overpriced replacements. as for extruded aluminum not sure what you mean, but NAS 110 door knock offs,

I'd be interested in the two piece doors - so long as they aren't a million bucks

It's a great idea. Too bad I just picked up my rebuilt doors a few days ago. :(

I have a customer with a 109 SW that would like to have it as a soft top. He's currently driving it with no roof and the full rear doors in place. Looks a little, well, unfinished.
I'm sure he'd be interested in a pair of rear half doors and door tops for all 4 doors on his 109, in aluminum.

Hey Chris, can you post a picture of the 101FC doors?

These are the prototype test fit for the extruded aluminum door tops we had made up. they should be done in a few weeks.

What was the outcome of this idea? Any updates?

Did not seem like like there was enough interest for a full production run. I'm just so sick of the bottom edges of all the Defender doors bubbling .....

Sometimes theres a spontaneous lineup on these type of threads for items based on a production run.
Put my hat in for a set. Maybe two sets depending on the price point. :)

Two piece all day long if they don't cost an arm and a leg

I am very interested. All of my doors are rusting, but I really dig the older lift up handle look over the later push button. I'd like to replace them with something that will last.

So how many would it take to be feasible? 10 sets, 20, 100...?

What he said. I'm interested still. A front set would be nice too. After all the work replacing the door frame on my 110 rebuild, I am never repairing another door frame if I can help it.

Ditto on the fronts. Any idea what the price would be for a set of front and second row doors? A while back, ECR's facebook page had a post regarding all alloy 2 piece doors they were making. I wonder whats going on with that effort.

What about the door tops for the 2nd row? Would these be made as well or only the bottom half?
