Anyone run a surrey or bikini most of the summer and hate the water that pours in through the space between the rear of the front windows and the roll cage when it's sitting? When I'm moving and it's raining I never really get wet, so don't really care, but when it's sitting out, I'd like for it to be sealed up a little better.
New Badger product, please (if not somehow already available). In the picture below you'll see I circled the Half Cab's vertical sides which seal up the area between the front windows and the roll cage quite nicely. Not sure if others think they'd want this, but I was thinking of asking Chris to come up with a way to produce just these pieces for those of us who use just the surrey or bikini in the summer time (and who don't want the Half Cab), as this would help a lot when it pours sideways!
I have the Gutter Kit, so I'd think that just a wide vertical fabric piece (like the one pictured), with a velcro strap to go around the roll bar, and another strap to secure up through those holes that are in the Gutter Kit may work for sealing off the cabin for when i'm running my surrey or bikini.
Yes, of course there is the Half Cab or the Badger II, but I like what I have currently.

Ok, so you have a bikini for the gutter kit. Do you have a drop curtain? I've lost track of what items you own.

Yeah, for the Summer I have your door tops, bikini for the GK, the Gutter Kit (duh), drop curtain, and rear tonneau. Only area not sealed up is behind the door tops when running the bikini and/or surrey.
I was just thinking something like this could be used interchageably with the surrey and the bikini so might be a cool and useful addition. And quickly removed.

I was just thinking something like this (probably not a buckle at the top though...realized that after I drew it).

just buy a 1/2 cab and sell your bimini/bikini

Yeah, but I run my surrey more than I run the bikini, so I was trying to come up with a solution to both.

Chris, you should make cubby box covers like the bestop ones. I <3 that thing as it keep rain off the only thing that can't get wet, the radio.

HA. It's not for me it's for the truck when it's sitting.
I don't really care if I get a little wet when I'm driving (my gf doesn't think it should be part of her passenger experience though); it's more for when I have the truck sitting out during a storm.

Josh, I'll take a look at the 1/4 panels for the Half Cab kit.
Ron, We have the pattern for the LRNA cubby box fitted to the 1994/95 MY.

Horsey instead of inventing new parts you absolutely need for your shitbox why don't you take all that excess cash and buy some tires.
I had planned to leave this post alone but since Horsey wanted to chime in on my cage it was like poking a sleeping bear.

Will sell you my used and bent KM1s for $4k. They're also NLA. :)

Impossible
What did you get? Is that why you need boosts?

Yeah, I figured I'd see if I could find them for a reasonable price since I need to get these tires mounted anyway.
Still looking for pics of a black NAS 90 with chrome boosts to see what they'd look like. I've seen the deep dishes but no boost.

there is that one that was on entourage that is for sale in LA somewhere. Pics I think on autotrader. I am over boosts. Everybody gets them. I want the wheels from the 60th anniversary defender.

Roll some large towels around a piece of foam pipe insulation. Bungee that all to the roll cage. The towels will need to be dried at the end of the day, but it does the job. I had the same issue, and that is what I have done to solve it.

Not really sure. Black steelies. I'd have to contact the PO to see if he remembers.

HAHAHAHA yeah I meant ALLOY not chrome. Oh man thank for catching that. Last chrome I saw on a Defender was that one from LA with the chrome Freestyle rims at Copley. :)

I think nato wheels would look good on your truck.

I don't like those on our Defenders. They're too pretty with that one painted or etched spoke. Boosts are almost too pretty as well.

I haven't seen these wheels (http://www.silverlinewheels-tyres.com/downloads/blindoWheel.pdf) in North America yet - they look good.

Better yet do what Brian does and buy a disco and park the 90 in the garage only to come out on perfect days:eek:

See, that's the perfect solution. I can run topless year round and never mess with trying to get a damn top on ever again. But, my truck's had it's fair share of rain water in it, even with the full top on...I recommend everyone get a second car for inclement weather. Besides, defender wiper blades/arms are useless.
