Are there any advantages to the "integrated solenoids"? I am looking at a Superwinch X9.

Not in particular other than it is easier to make it fit as you don't have to find someplace for the box.

The Albright solenoids found on some Superwinch winches are pretty robust. Miles better than the Warn solenoids. Without looking, I'm not sure what the X9 uses. But I know the EP9 uses the Albright solenoid and it can be remote mounted as well.
You should look at the EP9 over the X9, IMO. Amazon.com had a good deal on them, too, not long ago.
EDIT: EP9, $550 shipped from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Superwinch-09032-EP9-0-Master-Winch/dp/B00023S34K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1283201396&sr=8-1

Why, its faster than the X9 based on the numbers, and with the price difference I would imagine the X9 had the Albright Solenoid.

wench questions are worse than motor oil questions
