OK, I need advice. My piston rod broke and cracked the block on my 1995 D90 #001.
I have two motor available to me. One is a V belt 3.9 with less than 40,000 miles and the other is a
serpentine 3.9 out of a 1995 disco with less than 100,000 miles. They will both cost about the same but is it worth the hassle to put the serpentine belt motor in (changing hoses, shroud ect) or should I just drop the V belt 3.9 in and be done with it.

Thanks

Rico I am surprised no-one has responded, but I hope they will as I am not an expert.

You should be able to take the low mileage v-belt engine and swap your existing front cover and ancillaries over to it, giving you the best of both worlds. If I am wrong you should hear from others :)
