Greetings,
I am listing my 5-spd (manual) 1997 Discovery SD Alpine White for sale. I bought the truck 6 years ago and it has been very reliable. It has been garaged every winter and never driven in salty roads (I have 2 other cars). This truck (in my honest opinion) is one of the nicest Discoveries out there. There is no rust anywhere in the truck (frame or body). I would like to see the truck go to a good home. I will not give her away but will entertain reasonable offers.
Asking $5,800 for the truck.
The truck is located in Cincinnati, OH.
Below is a short list that describes what the truck is and what I have done to the truck:
1. 1997 Discovery I series with the stock 4.0L V8 engine and 5-spd manual transmission (R380). This truck is the last year that Land Rover brought any 5-spd vehicles to the U.S. market.
2. Current mileage is 140,200 miles (I bought it with 134,000 miles in 2004)
3. R380 Shifts smoothly with no noises
4. LT230 engages and disengages smooth as well
5. Old Man Emu 2” springs installed within less than 1,000 miles (bought from Expedition Exchange)
6. Old Man Emu Shock Absorbers installed within less than 1,000 miles
7. Genuine Land Rover Rubberized spring isolators in the rear
8. Genuine Land Rover Rubberized shock tower securing ring in the front
9. Old Man Emu steering damper installed along with suspension components
10. Rockware trailing arms with the bend to relief stress on rear bushing due to lift
11. Genuine Land Rover bushings in trailing arms and radius arms
12. Genuine Land Rover tie rod ends on steering bars
13. Genuine Land Rover Rear Ladder
14. Mantec Snorkel
15. Mantec Skid Plate
16. Rovertym Rock Sliders
17. BFG Goodrich Mud Terrain KM1 235/85R16 (set of 5) less than 5,000 miles on them
18. Genuine Land Rover XS Body style fender flares (this was a stock option in some Discoveries)
19. Expedition Exchange DOT Stainless Steel Brake Lines
20. Expedition Exchange Lowered Shock Mount (Rear)
21. Expedition Exchange Brass Radiator Plug
22. Castrol DOT 4 brake fluid (All brake system was flushed)
23. Genuine Land Rover brake pads within less than 1,000 miles
24. New Champion Spark plugs with Genuine Ignition wires
25. New Genuine Thermostat
26. New Genuine Fuel Filter
27. No SRS or ABS lights on dash. All systems work properly.
28. Zero rust in body or frame
29. Paint is flawless with no chips
30. All fluids have been flushed and replaced within the last 5,000 miles
The bad:
1. Headliner is sagging
2. Small leak of power steering fluid (not big by any means)
I will be glad to take additional photos if needed. I will be keeping the seat covers shown in the photos. Seats are Cloth and are in perfect condition. No tears or damage to any of them. The Safari Lights have been removed from the brush bar.
Engine oil has been changed periodically using Shell Rotella. The mileage on the truck does not reflect the condition of it. I own a 1995 Discovery I (Epsom Green 5-spd as well) with 98,000 miles and the 1997 feels solid and very well adjusted compared to the 1995.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions via PM or at albertogarcia60@gmail.com
Thanks,
-Alberto
