Does anyone else keep ripping off belt loops on the door strike plate getting into the drivers seat. A small price to pay for owning a defender. Just wondering if it's me or the car :)

Where elastic waistband pants.
Or:
Weld doors shut and get in Dukes of Hazard style.

Remove the doors! It has never happened to me. You could fabricate a guard for the plate with a piece of angle aluminum and lexan, but chances are you will get caught on that also. Maybe Yousef will have some advice! He may be able to tell you some kind of ninja move or something.:grin

I must have ripped the loops off of at least 4 pair of pants/shorts that way over the last few years.... Glad its not just me. I just try not to wear nice pants when driving the 90. Its a good think I don't have to take it to work.

I heard Mr. Yousef does a back flip into his.

That would be the Ninja flip. Maybe you all are too pudgy. Not that I have room to talk but I also have to master the extra high-jump over the nut-buster thigh supports of the Courbueas.

I decide I'm just going to stop wearing pants.

maybe just short, not pudgy... although I am pudgy, I choose to think its a height issue, as I can't control that.... ;-)

Hey! I'll have none of that! You keep your pants on! Belt loops are over rated, get a pair of suspenders or better yet get some coveralls.

It happens. I just tell my Girl Friend to pick me up a new pair of whatever while she's out spending money at the mall. Makes up for her expensive taste in cuisine.... Every freakin weekend....

Maybe we should all just get jeeps. I've heard that rubicon is nice...
I can see the letter bombs in my mailbox already ;)

I can't tell you how many pairs of Carhartt jeans I have that are missing the left rear pocket, or just have a big hole where it caught the corner of the pocket and ripped the seat open. Sometimes it will catch the emblem sewn in the middle of the pocket, and just rip out the center of the pocket, leaving all of the edges intact (if I am lucky:>)

My girlfriend has the problem of hitting herself on the edge. I for one try not to keep my shirt tucked in, it helps! To hell with pants!

Dave, Whats wrong with those suspenders and pants? I have many pairs just like them.

Richard C, if your going to wheel without pants you should invest in some of those waterproof seat covers. If you ever sell or trade your D it will help the resale value, especially if you do those 5+ bonzai trails.

Who here has hit their funny bone on the bulkhead edge while swiveling to grab the seatbelt? Ouch!

Not I, but I have a friend that knocked himself out cold on the rollbar over the passenger door. Used the step and boosted himself right into it.
*Bang*
Me:'Um, dude? Where'd you go?'
Nice little goose egg from that one. He's very careful now.

As an owner of a "Workman's Kilt" I can't recomend them enough. Just remember that the only proper resonse to the question "What are you wearing under there?" is boots!:)

Me too! I thought I was the only one.
All my shorts now have missing rear belt loops as well as some of my pants (drive it mostly when it is hot).
I bought the BMW to keep my suits in one piece!
