Yes, it's just like any other old vehicle. Be patient and find the cleanest most original truck you can afford. Even if it's at the top of your budget, you'll be way ahead of the game if it's clean to start with.

Learned that from the MGs Ive owned and working on the British stuff for 12+ years. Im looking for the usual rust spots, mechanical known quirks, etc...

boy are they telling you the truth, a rusted bulkhead costs good money. some missing parts are hard to get and whats worse a rover 4cyl will run with the worse things wrong. its a well built motor and the fact that it will start and run but be totaly worn out can misslead you.

Look for the best at the top of your budget is good advice. At the end of the day, look for solid body - frame, bulkhead etc. An engine/transmission is actually easier to replace than hunting down rust or bimetal corrosion.
