I have an AC unit for sale...recently removed from my 95 in great condition. I live a few blocks from the beach and never use it. I have no idea what a fair price would be for it...

I don't know what a fair price is, but I live a few blocks from the beach but get stuck in LA traffic all the time not so close to the beach :)
I'm considering purchasing a D90 w/o aircon, which I'd want to install. Let me know what you'd like to get for your AC system - if it's reasonable it might further motivate me to buy this non-AC D90 I'm looking at.. (post here or email me)...

Hi Brian,
I purchased the 94 D-90 I was looking at & now I'm looking for an A/C unit for it (it's not even in my physical possession yet!). I emailed/PM'd you but haven't heard back - have you sold the unit? I'm local to you, BTW.
Regards,
Jason

If Brian's is gone, mine is still available. It is in the truck and functioning right now, but I can pull it if you want it. I'm doing a 300tdi conversion and I'll just switch to a different unit.

Is this the entire unit? Belts and pulleys to temperature controls? Let me know what you want for it (PM or email me to discuss further).

Jason-
yes, this is the full meal deal, brackets, pulleys, compressor, belts, hoses, everything. Yes, it even includes the little plastic cover that Richard has been looking for forever. my email is jimcheney@hotmail.com.
Richard, there isnt much to that part, every thought about just vacuum forming a piece of abs or something?

I have a friend who does fab work and has a vacuum former. When I get an AC unit I'll ask him how much to make the part for you Richard (I'm guessing that LR doesn't sell just that cover, eh?)
Jim - email sent..

That would be great. I know it seems a little obsessive but I'm tired of looking at all those wires and hoses. Let me know how much it would be .
Thanks again
Yeah, NO ONE sells that part. It wasn't even a LR part it was aftermarket so LR can't get it anymore.

to add to what Jason said - ABS is just a type of plastic available in sheets, and also usually available with a grain pattern such as the part in question.
The part is a simple shell, not an elaborate molded part - it was probably vacuum formed to begin with.
Vaccum forming involved heating a piece of sheet plastic, and sucking it down over a form in the desired shape. In this case, you would just make a wooden block of the appropriate shape as a form - that would be easiest.

I live in Phoenix, AZ and have been without AC since 95. If the AC unit is still available I am very interrested.

If it helps, I would take a couple of those vanity type covers as well. I work on a couple trucks the owners complain about the exposed wiring as well.
