Bought this P38 Range Rover for myself as a winter truck. Sorted it out to make it reliable and ready for winter and have since found a newer Range Rover that I am buying.
Black 4.6 HSE with tan interior, high miles, $3500
The bad:
Just turned 200K miles. Runs and drives great, but does have high miles
Misc dash illumination lights out (the lights that help you find the switches). I just never cared to fix them because I know where the switches are and they all work.
Headliner sagging in the rear
Heated seats do not work
An aftermarket CD plater was installed and the steering wheel audio controls do not work with it
Paint is of poor quality (by my standards)
Rear squirter does not work
Drivers lumbar does not stay inflated overnight (slowly lets air out)
Key fob needs a battery and has buttons missing
Has cheap window tint
The good:
No rust issues
New Bilstein shocks
New tires
New brakes
New heater/blend motors, filters
New Optima battery
New rear wiper motor and all the silly little things like new wiper blades on the headlights, rear liftgate struts, trailer wiring, etc etc etc.
New tune up parts (plugs, wires, various sensors, etc)
No warning lights or codes (and yes, all the warning lights work)
Converted from EAS to coil springs before I bought it.
Runs and drives great. I drive it 50 miles or so a day without issue. Starts fine when cold, no coolant issues. Heated windscreen is great for icy mornings.
This is a great truck for someone. It is not pristine and it has high miles, but it has a ton of new stuff and has never let me down, and shows no signs of doing so. I'm going to be driving it daily until it sells. If you are looking for perfection, this is not your truck. If you are looking for cheap 4x4 transport... it just might be your truck. I could send it to get detailed and get it all fluffed up to try and make more and take pretty pictures, but there is no point. The truck is what it is, love it or hate it. I'm not going to try and poof it up into something it isn't.:):)
