Hello,
New to this forum and new to NAS 110s. My AC blows from top and lower vents but not from dash vents.
I've tried moving the lever up, down and in the middle with no success.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same issue. Mine was a deteriorated vacuum line that controls one of the vent doors. They are tiny vacuum lines that connect on top of the AC box, under the bonnet.

Tangential question - can the D-110 in-dash A/C ducting/system easily be installed in a D-90? Could the unique 110 parts be pieced together from parts sold at, say, Rovers North? Does it work well enough if proper additional insulation is installed (I've seen some mention of that)?

Thanks Doug. I'll check that out. Did you have to replace the deteriorated vaccum line?

Ze, I cut out the deteriorated section (about 5 inches) and slipped on a larger piece of rubber hose -- snug fit. Just something I had in the tool box.
Jason, I don't think this could be pulled off. First of all, getting the 110 parts would cost you a small fortune IF you could find them, and all the mechanicals would have to go under the bonnet rather than in the footwell. The hvac box (which my insurance company just paid to replace), with the heat exhanger, blower, etc. cost over $4K from RN. And that does not include the dash which would probably cost a small fortune as well.

OK, thanks for the info. Maybe I'll stumble across a wrecked LHD D110 with working AC one of these days while trekking through sub-saharan Africa....

Cancel that ticket! Only 525 Defenders were ever built with the in-dash AC: the '93 NAS 110s.

Not even in the Euro models, eh? Huh, interesting.

I saw a 110 in Brazil with the in-dash set up. It didn't look that old. Maybe a 98 or 99.

Maybe dig up that old thread on the CDK that came from Brazil this year for Vegas SEMA show, and look at the interior shots. I seem to remember an 'open' dash with vents...
Still don't believe factory in-dash exists anywhere but NAS... ;)
