single glass windsreen for a series

i came across a series with what looked like a series windscreen with the center strip removed and a single windshield glass across the length. does any know anything about mods like this?

Hmmm. Not entirely sure, but I remember talking about it when TDI_Guy was selling his Series IIa, but that was more about the defender windscreen replacement. Hope this helps:

All I'll say is that is is easier to replace half a busted windshield than a whole one.

I've ran a modified series windscreen without issue. Its nice not having the piece of metal right across the middle.
