I have a stock Land Rover winch bumper that I removed the wings (ends) from due to damage. I removed the top, bottom and fronts and left the back portion in place as it extended into the tray itself. My question is, should I fully box in the new wings or leave open spaces in the back like land rover did. Not sure why they left it open, but they do.

Thx,

I would fully box the ends...It really is the best option.

Scott, thanks for your input, I was thinking the same thing but wanted to bounce it off some others. I think the factory ones are pieced due to there set up jig. I can't see any other reason that they wouldn't box it.

I would think that they are pieced together to save cost, weight and time. Not to mention, 90% of the winch bumpers probably rarely or never get used, by the general LR clientele.

Box it up and make it functional.
