Shallow bucket headlights

I'm looking for some 7in headlights that are shallower than most. I'm already goign to chop the bucket but I need more room.

I need every inch of the room behind the breakfast for radiator/intercooler.

The trucklite LED's are shallow but are $$$$$.

any suggestions?

put on an SVX type front and mount the headlights further forward.

You can run without full buckets. First, DONT CHOP THE NICE ORIGINAL BUCKETS. Second, go find a RRC and take the buckets out of it. The have no backs already.

All lights seem to be about the same depth to me other than, as you mention, LEDs. I have seen right angle plugs which might help a bit (or just use three individual tabs rather than the full plug).

SVX?? this is for a series 1.
I'm not moving the breakfast. My goal is to keep it original looking from the outside.

Ron- I have a set of donor buckets from a 2a to chop... but It looks like I'm going to be chopping the rear of the breakfast regardless. I've already stepped off the edge and chopped the motor mounts.


Side mount plug may just do the trick. The plug is an extra 1-1.5 inches when attached.
I'll look in to that.

I thought about bending the tabs and going 3 individual plugs... but it is nice to have a socket.

Sockets such. They overheat and melt. Other than making sure you hook them up right, IMHO individual plugs are better.

My dads 109 with the basic S2 grill (lights are further recessed than with the Chrome trim rings) has backless buckets and bent tabs on the lights with individual insulated plugs.

I used the early RR buckets on mine with aftermarket plugs. plugs have the wires coming out at a 90 deg angle.
