Brake Lights Stuck ON

I recently had the fun experience of not being able to shift from park to drive. Well, I replaced the switch and now I can shift with no problems, but the brake lights are on permanently. Anyone else had this problem?

Tonight I plan on reseating them to see if that resolves it.

Also does anyone have the schematic for the fuse panel for a 97 Disco? Mine of course was kept by the previous owner.

Well I reseated it and they are still stuck on, funny thing is that when I depress the switch, it locks the shifting and I assume since no one is behind me that the lights go out. It's operating oppsite. Go figure.

You might have the brake light switch wired backwards. Not sure on a Discovery.

But the way it's setup it only plugs in one way, but worth a harder look.

i dont know about disco's but on defenders the brake switch behind the servo is very dodgy and mine goes quite often it might be worth a look
