Side step install - do it look correct?

I have installed 1 of 2 side steps. Pretty easy to do but I am not sure if the support bracket is facing the correct way, etc: not that it seems to make a difference. Oh, and the driver side step has a notch in it to abutt to a bolt. Never noticed it until yesterday.
Finally a question. Placement of the step seems to forward for me. Anyone? ? Again, this is where the "holes" lined up.

It looks like it should be a little higher up to me. When mine folded up out of the way, they covered the diamond plating on the sills and came just under the door. If yours fold up to that position then its right.

Where do the folding side steps fasten on floor? Do they use the same bolts used on the floor boards and seat boxes? Any drilling involved?

Sorry, Mike just getting back on line.
If you look under the truck, you see where the sills attach. Right behind that is a second ridge. My step attached to that ridge and was reenforced with an l bracket to the bolt holes attaching the sill.
Finally, the long black post connecting further under the truck, on the passenger side that did not line up. Still do not know if it is a factor but as my 50lb kid is the only one who uses the step...
The camera is battery dead. Will charge and post a few pix later today.

I noticed on my D90, the galvinized rail (where the sills, floor board, and seat box mount to) under the door have two holes on the inner web that are 7 -7/8" apart. Is that where you bolted it to? Looks like the holes are large enough for a 6mm bolt.
It seems very straight forward...I just don't want buy a set and then figure out that it requires drilling/cutting...

I've installed these on my old 90 - didn't have to drill for the sill attachment points - holes already there. For the support bar, you do have to drill into the frame rail and install (IIRC) a 8mm rivet or nutsert. That's how I had to do it. I followed the genuine LR instructions.

Mike, that quote from me is from 2004. "abutt to a bolt"? Even I do not know what I was thinking in those days. On the serious side, no drilling involved, 6mm. The step will line up with the holes underneath the cab. Do not worry.
For the support bar, drivers side lined up so no biggy. Passenger side, mine does not line up and per post by Will, gee I guess you could drill a hole into the frame. I chose not to.
Will ... Huh!?, there are instructions for these things?
