Series 3 clutch push rod too short ?

Just put a new flywheel, pressure plate, friction plate, throwout assembly, new master and slave cylinder and found the throwout assembly will not travel far enough to engage the pressure plate. On the UK forum was told to add around 20mm to the clutch push rod. Has anyone else had this problem ?

Previous owner did that on my SII.

Not sure why it was necessary, but it works!

check your m/c pushrod adjustment to make sure there is not too much free travel you want about 1/16" max free travel in the pushrod itself. also make sure it is properly bled and that the flex hose is not gone soft.
