bulkhead removal bar

I have a ST that I am going to run as a SW. I have kept the part of the rollcage that replaces the bulkhead of the rear tub. I will be running an exo cage, which will not tie into the bulkhead removal bar. My question is this: The bulkhead removal bar runs up through the body side cappings. Should I cut off the bars beneath the capping and weld on a plate to the bar to bolt to the body cappings? The bars just juts through a big hole in the body capping, so it really offers no support without the b-pillar bolted on top of the capping.
