I've heard rumor of a Land Rover junkyard in the LA area (or, at least, one that has a large collection of LRs). Does anyone know anything about this?
Any suggestions where to go on a Saturday in LA to scrounge for some random LR parts armed with a wrench and socket set? (and no, the shopping mall would be unethical!)

Sorry to get off topic, but I did know a guy who stole a driveshaft off of a jeep in a parking lot :) The only place I can think of is about as far from LA as you can get, but Roverworld in Miami deals with a lot of salvaged Rovers and often list parts online.

Not heard of a LR junk yard. I am N of LA and travel down 118.
I have gone through a couple of the salvage yards but they are generic....
everything is in them. The management is pretty basic in that there is no
computerized inventory so it is stop by and look.
Blows you away when you see all the stuff in there. Totally cool, but never
seen nor heard of a Defender. Discos yes and one LR but by the time it was there
I think it was about ~ 4 feet long.
Only advice - keep looking, wear gloves and carry rust removal grease.

Yup, that's got to be it. I heard it was near Burbank.
Thanks for the replies - I have my Saturday morning plans now...
