Parking/dash lights - on with ignition in "run" position..

Out of curiocity, are the parking and dash lights supposed to come on with the ignition switch? Mine do, and it's kindof annoying.

This may be another case of redneck wiring by previous owner(s), but before I assume it's wrong and tear into it I thought I'd ask here.

nope. should only come on with the light switch.
