Apprasing an '82 Series III RHD

I've never owned a Series (3 90's over the past 13-14 years) but thinking about this '82 RHD Series III. I plan to take a look at it this weekend and if it is in original unmolested condition I'll be interested pursuing further. Any tips on how to guage what the market is supporting for an original well documented RHD '82 Series III?

Give me a buzz if you want to chat Series (I've got a '71). Also, and this is just my perspective personally, you may want to strongly consider a late IIA. The plastic dash on the SIII kills it for me...again, only my $0.02 (but if the price is right it prob can be overlooked).

Ha, nice catch! Actually, I got that rear door from Lanny Clark (rover guy, pretty well known in the Series world). I was looking for a beat up door to turn into a 1/2 door...that was a perfect candidate, and was already the same color as my rig so it was a no brainer. Just cut her down and bingo...poor mans half door.

I'm a slow learner so I think I'm going to have to try an earlier one before I agree 100%. But so far I agree :)

I would have agreed a few years ago but I really dig the late 2a now. Still not a big fan of the s3 dash though or the plastic grill. I almost bought a 71 88" truck a few years ago an after staring at it for a long time the outside lights and metal grill really grew on me. Eventually picked up a 69 109" sw. Love the way it looks (before I took it apart :) ).

I agree with you on the signals, and what you can't see (old pics) is that I replaced all my turn signals/brake lights/etc with the bullet-style this past summer (as I despised them as well). I don't mind the wing mount headlights however :).

I don't completely disagree, but Series 1s have galvanized door frames and door tops, doors that are more easily removed, a better departure angle, larger windscreen, lack the easily bendable sills of the later models, etc.

The Series II appeared after the stylists got involved.:)

My free-time on Sunday didn't match with his so I wasn't able to make it. Seems like a very goo guy though so I believe it isn't a pile of hidden surprises.

True. They are also VERY basic and easy to work on.

no, i decided it wasn't really a killer deal. every year i come back from MAR and i have 110 envy so i'm sort of on that kick again.
