I've done fixes/replacements to the truck and it deserves a spot in this section.

When I got the truck, there were several things that needed attention. I'll add these, fixes and more as I go.

For now, here is the truck when Goose and I picked it up.

So far I've replaced the flex line, slave cylinder, fuel pump, and starter solenoid.

I like how between the first and second picture, the electrical tape has fallen off the wire nut that keeps the grounds together. [Insert electric train joke here.]

They are different... :nerd

First pics is black-to-black... This is the headlamp wire that burned.

Second pic is green-to-black-to-green... This is the brake lamp wire.

You're going to love this one... this is how I found the rear wiring. :eek: That thing in the middle with a stud is a breaker.... who the f**k puts a breaker on the negative side. :wow I'm amazed that this truck did not burn to the ground.

Anywho, That's why I'm replacing ALL the wiring this winter. :)

Fuses and breakers protect the WIRING and not the device being powered. This prevents the wire from overheating, melting the insulation and grounding/sparking the hot side. The Series Rovers had two circuits with glass fuses. If you redo the wiring you may wish to split up the loads to circuits for engine, lighting circuits, wipers, accessories and heater blower. You should consider an updated AT type fuse block. See the "electrickery" thread for sources of wiring and components.

I haven't looked into what I want to do. I could go Painless or Blue Sea Systems.

Blue Sea or even better BEP Marine (http://www.bepmarine.com/). Jamestown Distributors (http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/main.do) carries them. Painless is a rip off in my opinion.

Just use a proper factory harness and use new bullets, connectors, and good grounds.
