just picked up my first d-90, it is an 86 ex MoD, RHD with original canvas soft top. The top is in good condition, but appears to have lost its waterproof capacity. I've read some things about applying wax or silicone sprays. Any one have suggestions?
thanks

You might try the 3M Scotchgard water repellant.

If you wind up giving up, I'd be interested in your used one. My truck cab should be arriving soon and I'm hoping to convert it to a soft top at some point.

I've had good results with Canvak. First used it on my deuce and a half in the 70's and also on my Lightweight's canvas.

Second the Canvak? Canvax? I obtained from a commercial canvas store. Clean, brush on, let dry. Worked well on Dodge M37 for years. Reapply as needed.

With the top on, as you want it nice and stretched out. Lots of good instructions/pointers here.
