My fupped duck Bulkhead

Got it back from the stripper and find that most of what has been holding things together has been rust. Fortunately it all got cleared out and what's left of the miserable thing is more or less the dash. Looks like the footwells on both sides as well as the door posts and the area next to the vent openings is all rot.
I have previously used the Rovers North panels to repair the LH footwell, and that has actually stood up well to corrosion as it was galvy.
I like them because they seem to be the only ones that have the stiffening ridges molded in. I guess I am asking whether there are any other panels out there that are of similar quality but less dear to the wallet?

OK ordered the foot wells and center section from RN. Need the door posts that go up high enough to do the curve.

Pretty much. I'm actually looking forward to the zen of renewing the bulkhead. I had planned to send it out to be done, but the budget will not sustain such notions. I need a cut off wheel and some vise grips and some magnets and stuff. Guess I will also make an alignment jig out of angle to hold the bulkhead shape while working it over.
Some of the repair panels are on back order from RN, and the stuff coming from the UK, well who knows. Maybe by the end of the year it'll be ready for surgery.

I wondered if you would find what I did on the stripper!

My sandblasting left nice clean steel and a few spots I didnt find with the screwdriver test (jab)
When the acid dipped it then galvanized a few new holes appeared:angry
It sucks after all that work for certain.

Yes m m has them that go all the way up to the second hinge. £46 I think per side.
My bulkhead will be like new when I'm done.
I'm going to have it galvanized and then it gets shot with Interlux Perfection. I understand it has to be coated within 48 hours or else you have to wait a year, so I gotta have my timing just right.

.......and the thing about waiting a yr if not done immediately is a myth as far as i am concerned. I paint galvy stuff all the time and it is never within 24 hrs and mostly not after a yr. I do usually leave it outside for a bit.

What do you use For prep and primer to paint galvy to get good adhesion? I had my bulkhead and rad panel dipped a couple of months ago and I want to start painting soon.

Unlike some other shops I don't do my own paint (I have an excellent body shop that understands Land Rovers right in the same building so why bother).
They use DuPont 5718S which is a conversion coating for galvanized surfaces (or steel). Then it gets epoxy primed and painted with whatever the specific job requires. The conversion coating is the key I think. I have also used the "Primergalv" coating right from the galvanizer, but have not noticed long term that it is any better.
