Where should I get parabolic's for my rebuild?
I called Bill at GBR and they have been out for months.
Its time to bolts stuff together and it ALL starts there!

What about rocky mountain?

Got the Rocky Mountain ones and am pretty happy. I think I need to start hauling less crap around though, or else get a set of four-leafers.

Thanks Guys, It looks like they are much less expensive at RM.
Would you go with the 3 leaf on a series 88?
I will probably tow a trailer sometimes

Springs are cheaper through RM, but shipping and import duties make them more expensive than ordering those same springs though Rovers North - or that was my experience about 4 months ago. I waiting until RN offered free/discounted shipping and ordered then.

I'd call RM and tell them how you intend to have the rig set up. I had 3 leaf rear springs and it was great with full hard top, but I sold them to a friend when I started my spring over conversion and he uses them with a pickup cab and has been having rear drive shaft issues. They will make a good recommendation for you.

FWIW- I really liked the RM springs especially when I had the truck loaded for camping.

Great Basin sells Heystee brand parabolic springs

British Pacific sells Rocky Mountain brand parabolic springs

Rovers North sells ??? as a Proline part. You need to ask them the brand & where they source them. About a year or so ago they said their parabolic springs came from India. Get a verification as to what brand they are before purchasing a Proline part.

I have the ones from Paul Heystee some years ago. What a pile of sh*t they turned out to be. Truck sagged to one side, and no amount of bitching and moaning to Paul did me any good. Finally gave up.
Still have them on what is now a stripped rolling 109 chassis.

Definitely do this. When I bought mine from them a few years back they were selling parabolics made by Jonas Woodhead:

Don't know what they are selling now as "Proline" springs. IMO, the Woodhead springs appeared to be excellent quality and more dimensionally consistent than the RM springs I used on another project.

When I talked to RM late last year Nov. I was told that there springs are made overseas to there Exacting specifications.

Im not sure where over seas but not the mainland Canada or USA.


Im waiting on the new Bill Davis versions he is working on! not a parabolic but will be close in comfort and made in the US.

When I called Bill about Hastee springs he told me about his new spring design he is working on.

I had agreed to purchase some from him but they were to come in early January.
I have sent emails and left messages with his office but I can get no response so I assume I need to look elsewhere. Its kind of strange really......But I have already delayed getting started putting this project back together for a month and its just time to move on with rebuilding before my son gets another year older!

Yes I was refering to Great Basin, I just got off the phone with Bill and he said he is still working on the fine tuning and wasent happy with the front spring shackle angle.

He is hoping to have them done in a few months, but is making sure the springs are to his spec before he sells any.

He is a really friendly guy and explained to me why it was taking extra time and that he was with the spring sales rep. and things are moving along but these things take time.


So if your needing springs now sounds like it could be a little while longer before we see them, Im still waiting for awhile longer for his springs.

I had the RM on my SIIa 88 with the Pro-comp shocks. They were the 2 leaf rear (soft top 88) and worked great on the trail as long as I didn't carry to much weight[I]. I would go with the 3 leaf rears and OME shocks next time. I like to carry alot of stuff.
