I was supposed to do it a few years back in my '67 Bronco, but things fell through (like, the engine)

But, I want to do this thing. Thinking of my D-90 as a rolling toolshop, assisting folks on the way.

Anybody else feeling tentatively crazy?

I don't think I have heard of it? Not that I would be a good candidate, when I'm on the trail I need the fixing. Where does it take place?

It's a LONG roadtrip that Hot Rod magazine puts on every year. This year was Texas to Wisconson, I think 2005 will be Wisconson to Orlando? But it's too soon for me in 2005, need a few things done on the D-90 first before I can consider it.

Oh, and I need to save up money.

What you should be thinking about (and organizing for the rest of us) in two years is, well, let's see --- Continental Divide trip? Boarder to Boarder trip? Alaska? Belize? Mundo Maya? Dakar? Borneo. Oh, scratch that last.... ;)

I watched the Power Tour on TLC last night. It does look very fun. Cannonball/Gumball for hot rods.

Oh man, you're NOT going to make me organize an event are you? Just because I organize tournaments for my paintball team that lives in 4 US States and 2 Canadian provinces doesn't mean I am very good at this.

So.... where would you want to go? How about following the Colorado River?

I have always wanted to drive from the northern tip of Alaska to the Southern tip of Chile. Any takers for 2010.

"Ruta Colorado 2006." Has a nice ring to it. Where would it start and end?

A friend of mine drove from here (calgary) to Tierra del fuego and back a few years back in his LeMans....the only modification was a CD changer in the trunk. Actually he only got as far as Costa Rica before the engine blew (strange as it was the best part of it). He bought a a Toyota Starlet which survived the whole of the rest of it - though he had to skirt the Darian Gap and bits of Guyana. 2010 sounds a good idea, but just how much fuel will we need.....must be 10,000 miles @15 mpg.....each way....

Done that in 97 in my Cobra but I don't think it will be as fun in the slow poke D90's :)

Well, if we do follow the Colorado River...... Headwaters to outlet? or outlet to headwaters?

How about start at either Denver or Grand Junction and go down to Las Vegas.... and hitting the trails in between? Or maybe not even bothering with roads except when needed?
