Hey Fellas.

I hate to bother you all but does anyone know where, or what the part # is for the checker plating that came stock on the 97 Willow Green LE D90's ???

The dealers I've spoken with have no idea, and I don't know where to look.

For those who don't know what I'm referring to (I'm sure ALL of you do, but just in case) ... There were supposedly 300 Willow Green D90's that were imported in 1997 and aside from coming stock with Willow Green Paint & The Safari Rack (LRNAFS90RR) they had a special silver (or aluminum... it's shiny...lol) checker plating on the LADDER of the rack and rear corners, front fenders, side sill's, etc... BUT I'm only looking for the LADDER plates.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

Yes, I know what you are talking about, but cant find them from LR either. In fact, I have a damaged LE rack (got from a mutual friend) that I need to get the plates off of, but they are bonded on...

My idea was to order the bumper plates from rebel 4x4 (www.rebel4x4.co.uk) and just bend them for the rack. Pic attached.

If you order a set let me know, I want to get some too.

You might give Rover Connection (http://www.roverconnection.com/Def%20Acc%20Pix/dfcheckerkit.htm) a try.

Martin,

Thanks & here's a silly question:
Can you get them ?

p.s. RoverConnection said they'd get back to me next week.

I checked with my parts department and with land rover, they have them in stock, I can have them ordered tomorrow. Here is the bad news 158 plus tax. I think that was the reason I didnt get them.

Martin,
That price is really high. I sell them (Genuine) for $112 to D-90 members and we have them in stock. I keep most of the checker plate in stock as it's our best seller.

I hope this post doesn't offend anyone or is perceived as spam. I just think that price is a bit excessive.

Mike,

Just got them in, $150 Total with shipping, so I didn't get killed like they had originally quoted me... good for me anyways.

BUT... Is there any type of adhesive that comes with them ?

There wasn't any adhesive strips or anything like I had hoped... the package was open and when I called Matheny Land Rover in Orlando they said that they opened it to 'check' and that there was no adhesive of any kind.

What do you use or suggest ? Anyone know or have any suggestions ??

Thanks

The damn OEM installation looks like f'n structural adhesive, I'm still trying to find something that will dissolve it!

Well, I took a look at them and they just 'clicked' on... I could use some adhesive though to make them tight, but they fit pretty good. I did scratch the coating on the ladder a little, but not too bad.

They must have put some strong adhesive on there at the factory...

Good luck removing those suckers.
