Pre-Production Defender for sale, legal to import to US!

Dunsfold Land Rover has a pre-production D100 for sale! It was built in 1978 for the Swiss army for trials. It has 4 doors, with a canvas top. Basically, it looks like a Stage 1, which had the Defender front end, but series 3 everything else. Of course the rear bed is shortened as it is 10" shorter than a 110. They are only asking 9000GBP for this thing. I think it is a good deal.

such a shame LR never built this - 100 inch is arguably the ideal off roading wheelbase - the 90 is a bit short sometimes and the 110 is too long often. Looks nice. The correct link is www.dunsfold.com. not .co.uk.

I wish I had some free cash because that thing would be way cool to get over here. Is it a 78 or 82? If 82 we have to wait a while. Somebody should buy it, I can do the engine swap. No charge:grin :grin
