Hey Guys
I have a '94 Defender that has rust underneath the truck. Is there a good way to remove the rust. I live in FL so am not worried about further decay but would like to clean up the surface rust. A guy at a detail shop quoted me $650 to undercoat the truck does that sound right. Thnks in advance

Where is the rust located?
Frame? bulkhead? skidplates?

I wouldn't undercoat it, then it could rust away without you knowing it. I lost a IIa 88 frame because of that.
Probably the best thing would be to paint it with an anti rust paint like POR-15. Or even better, strip the truck down and galvanize the frame. Problem solved.

Hi!
I don't know, if it's available in the US, but I'd use "Fertan" (or sth. similar) to remove the rust. Just spray it onto the rusted areas, wait one-2 days. It "eats" the rust. Then clean everything.
Then paint it with hammerite or something like that..and...finally..:
MIKE SANDER'S conservation.

Unbelievable....The best you can get. No more rust..never...

Undercoating? Rust treatment?
What the heck are they?
I've never seen these issues pop up here before.
