Hey gang,
The site, as you might have noticed, has been running slower than normal recently and even at times, not up at all. The cause of this is the hosts server that the site sits on along with a few hundred other websites that share the same server, is constantly experiancing SPAM flooding attempts. This has been an ongoing issue for some time with the host and while most of the time you will not notice the performance impact it has on the site, it does every now and then, have a noticable effect on the site, usally resulting in slowness of the sections powered by the database backend and sometimes a complete outage for a few hours.
These problem should hopefully not be an issue much longer as a move of the entire site to a new host has been in the works for sometime and looking how to best transition to the new home with the least amount of impact to visitors is still being planned. So please bear with the slowness if you experiance it and continue to report any other porblems in the Help section and Mike and I will try to help you out or look into it.
