My viscous coupling on my fan died this weekend and I'd like to replace it. I'm not interested in electric fans and am considering a flexalite fan directly mounted (with no viscous coupling). Does anybody know the diameter of the OEM fan?

I have my old one at home that I can measure.

I am told that to have a continuously spinning fan (if that's what you are planning) is not a good idea - it will shear off sometime. you lose HP. what if water hits it?

trouble with the LR viscous unit and fan is that athere are so many types. DAP sent me the wrong one. Hopefully British pacific's is right - I am still waiting for it. DAPs cost 150 bucks, as it does at British pacific, though curiously the one I have ordered (for a 3.5 up to 1986) costs half that. If yours is a standard NAS should be no prob identifying.

my old fan measures about 15 and 7/8 inches from tip to tip.

I ended up getting a new viscous coupling from Atlantic British ($180)...now to get the old one off.

Thanks for all the help.
