This is semi-on topic... but since nobody answered you I figured I'd give you the courtesy... (don't worry I know how it feels... sometimes mine don't get answered).

I don't know if you'll find too many on this board that have tried the overdrive because in their own words:

"...At the present the Roverdrive is only available for 4 and 5 cylinder models as tests on V8 powered Land Rovers have not been completed..."

And the majority of users on here, since it's mainly a NAS D90 board have v8's... But I'm interested to hear as well.

On another note... I will say that I purchased a rooftop tent from this company and they took care of all the customs 'shtuff' at FedEX in Jacksonville, Florida and their customer service is top notch. If you need concrete answers though, the owner they told me is usually 'on safari' so you may have to wait some time to get answers, but hopefully they'll have a 'tech team' in that could answer your questions and whether or not their 'RoverDrive' has been fully tested on the v8.

I am still thinking about it. 1250.00 for the unit. I am just tired of driving down the highway at 62 mph with the tach at 3000. It just sounds bad. One of these days I will buy a tow vehicle, this might be the short term solution. Thanks again for your reply Nicholas

Rob, are you sure you're using 5th gear? Or do you have 4.7 diffs? I'm sure that to get my tach at 3000 rpms I'd have to go 75 or faster in 5th.

Bigger tires = lower RPM :grin Someone has to have one. Did you ask them for references to customers who have used them?

I have 35's with 4.75 gears. That is a good suggestion Mike. I will see what he says. 5th gear come on, I might be slow but ouch.

No jab intended! Wow, those 4.75's make a huge difference. On my way home tonight I found that I only do 2400 rpms at 70 mph.

The speedometer in my truck reads 95 at 62 mph. I had to change to a disco chip if anyone is interested in the stock d90 chip it is for sale cheap

Rob, you should do the VDO speedo and that will take care of that problem. Wasnt Rocky mountain working on an underdrive/overdrive all in one?

I too am curious about an Overdrive unit. I have the lower gears and hate revving the crap out of the engine just to hit 60+ MPH. Considered doing the chip mod to get around the limiter but still dont like adding stress to a 10 yr old engine. What does the VDO mod do? Am I correct in assuming it is just another way to circumvent the rev limiter?
