Just purchased a a complete front third with Tru-trac and 4.11 and a rear Detroit and GBR HD Shafts.
Does anyone have 4.11's on stock tires with a 97 Auto? I think I can get some performance out of the gearing around town but am concerned it may be a little loud on long trips at speed.
Any info appreciated.

I think 4.11s are best for about a 33" tire. the 265s are about 31" so you will have a bit more power but less top end speed and reduced gas mileage.

Nice gearing for off road, though. I would like those with my 255/85's or you could go with 285/75's would be nice. I would not want them with 265's, but I would like the excuse to up grade my tires if I were you. You need a good excuse...errrr...reason to do it.

It'll suck, you'll go deaf for sure...you should sell the whole lot to me...:)
Actually, I have a 1.4:1 high range transfer box which is roughly equal to putting 4.10s in the diffs...I don't notice any more noise...better power, the rpms run higher which puts the truck in the power band while cruising. 5th gear is now usable (I know you said you have an auto). Drawbacks are reduced fuel economy (10%ish). I say do it and upgrade to 255/85/16s next time you change tires. Top speed hasn't really been an issue, it'll do 90mph. I run 235/85/16s and am very happy with this gearing.
