I'm thinking of selling my 90 to buy a 1997. What do you guys think I could get. It is stock and in really nice shape. It has 93k on it and here are some specs:

94 #1734
Arles
updated r380
new clutch
new fuel pump
new oil cooler lines belts/hoses
good brakes
8k on new BFG AT KO 285/75
95 style ice cold a/c with new blower motor
tickford top in decent condition
full surrey top
full tonnue cover
cd player
badger seat covers
Hella 3000s
just passed inspection
have a Fiberglass H/T in great condition, not sure I want to sell.
has two dents on on right wing, other on drivers door..very hard to see this one.
going to put a new altornator in anyday.
Badger seat covers
REALLY clean truck
I would like to get $27k for it with the HT......Possible?
Like I said I'm just starting to think about it. I don't really need to sell it unless I buy a 1997.
Thanks
Rich

I don't think 27k is realistic. More like 18-20k tops, based on sales here and ebay. I mean I bought a 94 for 14,200 with 111k, 27k is almost double that.

Yeah, Thats what I thought. I have seen some very clean 90's go for 22-23k recently. I though if I enclude the HT which is mint maybe I could get another 1500.00. Its funny how different these things are priced on autotrader than ebay or here. Does anyone ever really spend Copley money for the ones they post on ebay. It is unreal. "I mean I bought a 94 for 14,200 with 111k, 27k is almost double that."
that is the second great deal you have found, how do you do it Ron.

It's all about patience. I found my mint, clean, AZ Arles '97 in stock form, 4 years ago with 90K miles for $23 including shipping.

It can be done. It's about patience and working the deal.

I found my 97 Black ST with 40K in bone stock condition for $23.5K in Portland. Deals can be had. Like Dave siad it's all about patience.

Patience and timing.
I had a leased car, the week I needed to trade it in... my D-90 showed up. The only D-90 in years to come onto the local market (papers). Did not know about this site or others back then.
I paid $25k on a 1994 ST with 60ish miles. Yes I paid too much by a few $K but I wanted it. Today, on a 1994 I would not pay over $20k. As to the extras onboard, no re-sale value unless stock LR. All else is a love affair by you, the owner. I would consider those the engagement ring, you never get it back.

I paid about $20K for my 94ST w\100k on it. However it was for sale 10 miles from my house, all original. Mine happen to be in Mint condition so I paid the 20K. I have owned 5 D90's and was looking for a 97 when I found this one. Never thought I would buy a 94 but wanted one I could play with and not worry. Patience is the key, lots of good deals out there. I would also like to know who buys the copley d90's, crazy prices. Where does he get all those low milage defenders? Good luck.

The deals are out there. I paid $25k for my 97 LE 2 years ago and it had a whopping 18.5k on the odometer!!! Woo Hoo! The truck was in perfect conditon...the seller just didn't know the value. I bought through an inside tip about a week before the guy listed. I had been looking for a little over a year and was ready to buy a beautiful FJ40 when the LE came available.

From my highly advanced investigative skillz, I have discovered that this original post is from about 2 years ago. Thus the truck apprears to have been sold long ago.

I love all the opinions I got how my price was too high. (especially the PM messages)This was from people who never even saw the thing. I sold this for what I was asking for to a guy in MD. I guess I should have taken the 18-20k for it instead of 25k.\

Sold it a few years ago.

It is like a time warp.

Looking at the streams here - time warp and all - it brings to mind the Mastercard commercials. Goes like this...
Looking for a car...$0.00
Looking on line at ebay and D-90 source...$25.00 (monthly internet charge)
D-90 inspection/shipping... $400.00
Paid... always to much
The smile I have EVERY time I see my D-90... Priceless

Best money I have spent !
