It has been getting a bit colder here, but hardly ever below freezing in the mornings when I start my truck.
I was wondering if anyone else had experienced anything of this nature:
When I fire it up, the RPM’s jump to about 2000 and hold there for a few seconds before dropping down in levels and eventually ending up at an idle of about 700.
From there, when I push in the clutch, sometimes the engine rev’s again up to about 1200 and I have to be gentle to get in 1st or reverse.
After it warms up, it seems to be OK, but still tough to get into 1st gear unless I am barely rolling or stopped.
It just seems to me that the RPMs should always drop when the clutch is engaged, or disengaged (not sure which) but sometimes they increase as I push in the clutch.
Is this “clutch slipping”?
Thanks,MM
