97' not downshifting when at highway speeds...

Pretty much anything above 50, and my rig won't downshift when floored.

I have to do it manually.

kind of intimidating with a semi behind me.



loose throttle cable?

Ok, I'm not sure if this will help or not. There is a bolt on the skinny paddle try to loosen it and see if that will make a difference.

I think this happened to Dave M and he ended up needing a new tranny. but try what everyone else said frist.
