I was on a flight back from the UK yesterday, and they showed an independent film called, "This is Not a Love Song." It has some footage of D-90s as people are hunting the countryside for some bumbling fugitives. Nothing special....probably only 30-seconds total, but it appeated to be an ST, with a hood mounted spare. Blue, I believe. I was delerious from jetlag, so the details are spotty.

It's definitely not worth seeing for the D-90s, but FYI.

Isn't there an ongoing thread somewhere in here regarding D-90s in film? Or did I see that on the Series 1 MSN group?

Well...

Stephen King's Dreamcatcher had lots of a D110 as the tactical vehicle of the Alien-fighting secret police led by Morgan Freeman.

Anyone care to add?

Let's see what do we have so far?

1) Tomb Raider (Custom LRNA 110)
2) Dreamcatcher (D110)
3) Italian Job (?)
4) 28 Days (MoD D90s, D110, 130, FC)
5) This Is Not a Love Song (D90s)

Defenders are a bit trendy I should think.

Let's keep it going...

I think in the movie Heist there is a glimpse of a lifted RR classic in one of the chase scenes.

'Die Hard 2' The bad guys drove a Range Rover

'Cliffhanger' I'm pretty sure I saw Sly Stallone driving a 110 SW (or maybe a 90 SW)

And of course, '3 Weddings and a Funeral' Kristen Scott Thomas drove a Series III I think

It may not have been Cliffhanger but I remember Stallone driiving a blueish grey Land rover in one of his movies but i think it was an SII or SIII. (Later - it was an SIII - check this out!!!

One of the more oscure ones: Hard Boiled.
I think there were some near the end as ambulances but they might have been Toyotas. I was pretty tired the last time I saw it.

there is a series I in the closing shots of Ice Cold in Alex and also midway through 633 Squadron, these both being WWII movies makes the LR a time machine!

Talking of time machines Dr. Who was always good for a bit of Landy spotting especially in the late 1960's/ early 70's

Hey. I just saw Bad Boys II. They have a sick chase sceen with a ser III 109 2 door s/t. Also, did anyone see the video from Kelly Clarkston? Don't know the name of the song(I'm not a fan) but she is driving a early Ser IIa 88 with no top through the entire video. Very cool.

Also, there was a red '94 D90 in the show "The Sentinel" for the first 5 or 6 episodes.

Oh and don't forget about the *Connistion green D90ST in Beverly Hills 90210.

* Interesting side note: There were actually two identical D90s in 90210 and they were property of Pioneer Centres of San Diego (or purchased back by the dealership). Pioneer Centres also owned the Denver dealership that became Land Rover Denver East and the vehicles were transferred to Denver to sell when the show was done using them.
When I purchased my '95 D90 in September '95 it had about 700 miles on it and for the longest time I thought it was one of the 90210 vehicles. I later learned it wasn't, but it was fun while it lasted.

Just saw BEYOND BORDERS. Actually a good flick. Angie rides in Defenders on the screen once again. Very interesting action.

Here's the updated complete list. I am now going to keep it as such going forward...please let me know of any additions!!

Note that there was 1 title in 2001, 2 in 2002, and 3 in 2003, all fairly notable releases (thus added). Perhaps the Defender is just starting to get popular?

Guys the reason those aren't on the list is that there are already extensive lists of series trucks in film, etc. done by Series club members.

This list is for Defenders in Film. If they come along with a Series, that is circumstantial.

I know you wanted a D90-specific list, but... here it goes.

The Judge Dredd vehicle was not a Defender as someone posted previously. It was a 101FC (forward control).

The Serpent and the Rainbow had them driving around in a Series III, though Bill Pullman kept calling it a "Jeep" thanks to the know-nothing writers.

I Dream of Africa, with the beautiful and talented Kim Basinger has several Series IIs, LWB and SWB. She even gets one stuck in a mud pit! No winch, of course, so my honey has to walk home.

There was an episode of ER where the good Drs. were providing health care in an African (?) country. They drove several Series vehicles.

Of course, Snatch has a black Range Rover crawling around the pikey camps, "I fokin 'ate pikeys"!

At the risk of being the complete opposite of the Defender owner stereotype:
http://www.rcarecords.com/media/kelly_clarkson/video/low_300.asx (http://www.kellyclarksonweb.com/)

Funny part, she talks about the concept for the video on her website (http://www.kellyclarksonweb.com/) and basically she's stealing her ex's truck that he's obsessed with (I'm reaching here, but not unlikely since it is a series vehicle) instead of her and Ferris Bueller's the thing.
This leads to the question: Who on here dated Kelly Clarkson?

I promise I've never been there except to check this for Javier.

Wicks was right, the car was not damaged. If you look at the video, it was rolled off a little mound. Since they showed a cliff right before she stopped, it gives the impression she's at the edge of the cliff. Though she can't sing, she's actually very pretty in her own way.

Anyway, here's proof the thing still leaves and breathes:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6296&item=4540387616&rd=1

It's up for sale, obviously. Look at the pics closely and you realize why they only chose certain angles. Even my Series would have looked better :)

I just saw a Lincoln Financial Group commercial with an older lady driving around in a white defender 110 pickup. Very cool, I have never actually seen one before other than the ones ECR builds but this one wasn't a hi cap pick up but definately a single cab. Kyra is the wife of one of SCLR's past presidents, Randy Banis. Randy is, among other things, Webmaster of DeathValley.com. Do a search on 'Last Chance Rand' and you'll find Randy's previous lifetime, before being Chalsy's 'dad'. ;)

I got a call a while back from someone (whoever does this...location scouts?) wanting to buy my Range Rover classic (the one that looks like a rolling SG advertisement) to use in a movie. I asked them what they planned to do with it as I'd be happy to let them use it in the movie but I didn't want to sell it. They said they were going to blow it up so I would not want to just let them use it.

Never found out what movie that was for but a year or so later that movie with Jamie Foxx "Kingdom" came out and at least in the trailer (I haven't seen the film) they destroy a RRC. I guess that was the movie.

That Queen Elizabeth movie from two or so years ago has some nice shots of the Queen driving a D90 out on her grounds in the country. I think I remember seeing it in that thread listed above, but my favo(u)rite part is when she drives it out into a remote part of the grounds and stops by a stream while going through a rough patch in her life and just sits out in the middle of nowhere for awhile. I just saw 'Anaconda 3' (there are actually 4 anaconda movies, if you can believe that) & it stars David Hasselhoff fighting terrible cgi anacondas. It also has a hot chick in a white tank top. Oh yeah, and it has plenty of 110 footage too. Highly recommended.

I was watching some cheezy Ed Burns movie about writers and spotted a D90.
The sad thing wasn't that I was watching a chick flick, it was that I spotted a D90 in the window reflection when they were window shopping!

So... not like I watch the Food Network all the time, but I do- so, who saw "Good Eats" with Alton Brown last week ( I think). He has a 94 D90 with supposedly some sort of diesel conversion and a tickford soft top. It was also conniston green with hard window tops. And it got some good coverage in that episode, including a gratuitous garage shot.

Anyone catch the black D90ST in Edge of Darkness? It passes in the background a couple chapters in when Mel Gibson is shaking hands in the office of "Mr. Bennett" at the Northmoor weapons manufacturer in good ol' Mass.! I wonder who volunteered their baby for the shoot? Write in if it was you. Nice ride, even from a distance! ;-)

Don't know the ST, but the scene where the car goes off the road into the river was shot on my street. It was entertaining to see the whole thing shot and catch Mel.

"The Last Enemy" .
It's a PBS Masterpiece mini series that I'm watching via Netflix.
In episode 1 a Defender gets blown up (see link below) - then later in the show the widow of the driver refers to the Defender as a "Jeep"...

Bad Boys II

Just saw this the other night. The director must be a big Land Rover guy, as there were a whole bunch of Land Rover Forward Controls, Series, Defenders. Great mix of Rovers! I was pretty impressed with the selection.

That truck used to or may still be at Sherman Oaks Exclusive. I think they were trying to sell it on ebay for a long time. I don't see if on their site anymore so maybe it sold.

No Land Rovers, but in the same spirit, Hatari, with the Duke, and Red Buttons. It has a couple cj-6's and a Jeep FC.

The gods mus be crazy has a LR as I recall.

Hatari actually does have a few of shots of a green series rover in it, towards the end when the elephants are chasing Dallas through the town. Gotta love John Wayne!

Casino Royal has a couple of sexy black 110's.
