I am considering the TD5 engine. Are parts available in the US from RN, or other sources?
I want to run down in South America where fuel is rather expensive and the D90 certainly enjoys to drink.
Went down in a Diesel from Belize and it was a pleasure.

The TD5 is nice but why not a 300TDi or the newer 2.8. The TD5 has a computer management system and you might find it hard to find service in the south. My 300TDi gets over 23 MPH!!

TD5 is a kick butt engine for sure. Radically better than a 300 or 2.8 but there are a lot of electronics to deal with. I can get any part you want for it, but going to S.A. I would recommend an engine like the 300 that anybody anywhere can work on.
