Its good. I fixed all of mark's canadian tricks, well almost all. Think she still needs cats, otherwise top notch.

I figure for someone wants a real roof and unlike the euro which requires drilling for the ST cage bottom and making a ton of hardware this is a bolt on.

I think the liftgate is actually 795 new, without hardware according to roversnorth.

Ooh, damn Ron, bad timing. I've been wanting an aluminum top, but I just moved to California pretty much drained the cash cow.

Ron,

What kind of roof rack is it?

evilfij

It is custom. It is like the RN style. Very heavy duty.

would the roof rack work with a soft top?

evilfij

You would have to make mounts like RN does for the back.

any chance you have a pic of the rack?

Is this still for sale? If so, what about shipping it to Oregon?

Ron,

Is this a direct bolt on for a soft top. Also is it flimsy, or sturdy. I would like to be able to take in on and off. Do you have some pitures.

Nathan, I sent you a pic a few days ago. Shipping will be spendy. It is NOT flimsey, it is metal.

It is a direct bolt on. Remove the ST cage, this bolts on. 94 POEs were STs converted at the port.

The only "issues" are a few pinhole in the skin of the tailgate (steel fine, could use a new skin) and some marks on the roof from where the roof rack mounts.

Hi Ron,

How are you? Any idea how much the whole setup weighs? I know the rear door is a heavy one. I am trying to guestimate shipping costs to Denver.

Thanks,
Brian

You can generally get things shipped for under $1 a pound.

I know this is a long shot, but is the roof still avaliable? I might be moving to the main line in August, and would really be interested in putting a hardtop on the truck. Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I couldn't send you an email. Feel free to email me with pics and info at rmshaner(at)hotmail.com

Cheers,
Rich

No pics. It is a green sides white hardtop standard as fitted to every POE. You must pick it up or have someone pick it up from 19041. Minor alum corrosion on bottom of tailgate (covered by rover stickers) steel on tailgate solid, otherwise top is in good shape.

I am interested in the top. Do you still have it, and I assume it has the sliding rear windows and moon roof? Please let me know.

Are you going to drive to Philadelphia to pick it up?

I still have it. No moon roof. Yes sliding rear windows.

I will be driving through the area on Thursday the 29th, unfortunately not in the Defender. I would have to put it in storage or ship it. Do you have the internal rollbar parts for the hardtop? Any chance on you wanting to sell the one piece doors?

evilfij

It is a POE so no one piece doors. email me at evilfij at yahoo dot com

You could, in theory, crate it up to ship and ship it to your home while you are here.
