No, not like THAT!!!

I mean, has anyone ever wanted to take a picture of your truck or use it as a "prop" in a photo shoot?

I had a guy come up to me at the gas station yesterday and after some conversation about the truck he says "Let me give you my card. I'm a photographer. I take pictures of women, that's what I do. And I think your truck would make a great prop in a shoot some time." No joke.

Nothing like that has ever happened to me before in regards to a truck but I've only had it for 3 months or so now. Just wondering if there are any other interesting stories out there...

Yeah David, that's my big fear. Women in bikinis = OK
Anything,uhhhhh...."less" than that and I know my wife would have a problem with it. Heck, I might even have a problem with it unless it was in a more Playboy kinda "tasteful" way. True porn is right out of the question.

I've got a couple of friends willing to make the sacrifice of driving the truck there for me and hanging out (probably with a video camera). Decisions, decisions....

I let my series truck out for a film a few years back. $400/day.

Dunno what kinda film.

What's this Wicked Weasel thing? Hmmm?

Not a "work safe" site.. to pull a term from the Pirate board, 35% applies.

Wicked Weasel is a bikini manufacture who's items sometimes are so small, they dont cover all the goods. www.wickedweasel.com.

Regardless of who rents your vehicle, you need to make them pay. Wicks' experience is pretty typical for a film.

If it's for a still photo-shoot charge them $150/day and make them buy you lunch, plus you get some prints of how it was used. Anything less and you're either getting ripped off or the photographer isn't legit.

Trust me, $150 is easy to bury in an invoice, especially if it's for legitimate expenses like a vehicle to use for props.

Who was the photographer? Has he got a site? Can you see his work?

Those are things that'll help you make your decision.

Peter,
I was in that business so if you do it, stipulate:
- the license plate is NEVER in a photo
- no nudes of any kind (if that is what you want)
- sign a waiver (short form contact usually about 1 paragraph
long that gives the photographer distribution rights)
- DO, DO ask for payment. Keep it simple and ask photos. Be
specific with the number, B/W vs color and size. If a pro, he will
use both B/W and color film so go for 2 of each. Size, easiest is
8x10 and you can even ask for just the car, and/or the model.

More than likely the photographer just likes the look and difference of the 110. He is thinking unusual safari type things. If he is freelance, try my idea. If he is contracted on a job, listen to Michael. For a shot, $150 is invisible (but do not get greedy).

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Hadn't thought about the plates.
I'm still mulling it over and need to make a simple list like you state Paul.
