Does anyone have any pictures of the routing of the air intake on a 2.8 when attached to a Mantec snorkel?

I've got the engine on order but I'm just trying to figure out the best way to route it out with the least amount of bends. From the photos I've seen, it looks like the intake on the engine will sit just back from the fender vent, meaning it'll have to pull a 100 degree bend one way and then the other to make it out.

thanks

The air filter has two inputs, one in the rear and a second that comes off the side at a 45? angle. The line to the rear is for the turbo. The snorkel line is the one with the metal heat shield, it is routed behind the engine and into the side of the air filter.

Thanks David, Was it tough getting the hose under and around the brake master?
Also, what kind of insulation did you go with on the underside of your hood?

Does anyone know what the cfm requirement is for the 2.8 TGV? I have a donaldson prefilter I purchased a long time ago, and want to determine if the model I have is sufficient for this engine requirements.

I used an online calculator and it came up with 561 cfm for a general turbo diesel with the 2.8 displacement at max rpm. if that's the case, then the peak requirement for a donaldson is a 4" inlet per the donaldson reference charts. My Mantec snorkel is a 3", which means that my engine is limited by not only the prefilter, but also the mantec snorkel.

any thoughts/facts appreciated.

I would likely try to keep the size of the hose comparable to the size going to the turbo as that is the "final common pathway".

The other option is to make with a quick disconnect and use it only when you have to, ie water crossings/very dusty trails.

561 is too much. It should be around 350/380 at the most.

Does anyone know a good place online to get heat shielding like he is using on his snorkel tubing?
