I've got an interesting project in the shop right now. I'm converting a 1994 NAS D90 into a D110 Hi-Cap pickup. I'm stretching the stock frame. Rear body section is from RDS.

The axles will be a Ford 9" rear with a true hi9 3rd member.
Front is using Toyota inners also with hi-pinion. Axle shafts and CV's from Rover Tracks.

Suspension will be custom linked front and rear. Plus lots more fabrication along the way.

The owners use is mixed, rockcrawler with lots of street miles. D90 currently has around 170k miles. His use I think is what most of us are looking for when building a rig. Be able to conquer some of the most hardcore trails yet still be able to drive home be that right down the street or accross the continent.

I need to edit some of the photos to post them here, so for now if you'd like to see some pictures of the build up:

Cool. Are you chopping the bed or leaving it that long? Seems now it will have a bit of overhang.

The bed it going to get bobbed some. We haven't decided how much yet.
Somewhjere between 7 and 11"........11 is the most without getting into the fuel filler opening. 7" would get the inside dimention of the bed right at 6'

That is awesome. Where did you get the pick up cab from?

All the body parts came from RDS, except the original NAS D90 ones we're reusing.

I was thinking of doing this for my next project, I really miss my old pickup and already miss my Defender (the guy picks it up Tuesday). I was thinking I'd put a new 110 galv. frame under it and use a 109 for the VIN. I'll definately keep checking that page and when I finally get the scratch to do it I'll pick our brain...

The 6'+ length of the 109 bed is really handy.....having said that, you can certainly leave the tailgate down to carry longer stuff...

Great project, now I know what to do with the Disco after that tree falls on it :)

that looks killer. I would def. get rid of some of that rear overhang though.

Got the bed bobbed and some of the roll cage fab'd up. I think it's looking sweet!
