Colorado Folks: Know anybody that works at Jeppesen?

Giving it another push for a Colorado job again, found a couple spots at Jeppesen that look good just across from Centennial Airport. Anybody know anybody that can put in a good word for me?

Not really sorry. What field are you looking to work in?

Aviation is my current field, but unfortuantely my degree isn't in engineering. Most jobs out there I've been finding are entry level stuff like baggage throwers, or want engineers.

Did you say you work on avionics, do you have an A&P?

[Hans]

No, no A&P or avionics certification at all :(
I was a radio maintainer in the National Guard, but it was mostly just installation and swapping out busted units for good ones. Some diagonostics.

Most of my experience in aviation is in operations and not maintenance or manufacture.

What about smaller airports themselves, like ASE?

I'd be willing to consider other airports, but need to make sure the jobs pay enough. Things like fuelers, baggage handlers and ticket agents don't pay too much and would be a huge pay cut for me. Most of those jobs are $10/hr or less generally.

Aspen is kind of different. There's a huge population of private jets, and there's a company that a private, fractional jet service named AEXJet, I believe. There may be an opportunity with them.

Hmmm, worth checking out at least. Never actually been to Aspen, always had the nagging worry that it would be like the Hamptons are here on Long Island. Where the year-round residents are good people, but in the wrong season it gets filled with far too many of the faux-wealthy that throw around almost as much litter and noise as they do cash.

I've never been to the Hamptons, so I suppose we're even. My experience here is that most of the people that seem wealthy up here, are wealthy. I teach skiing, work for a software company and chase after our 5 year old while my wife runs an estate. Outside of the people she works for, there's not a whole lot of exposure to the elite, whether in town, on the mountain or running around.

Andrew, I've been to Aspen over Xmas/New Years a few times and have seen a couple of D90s. Which is yours?

I just purchased this in January, so you probably haven't seen it. When you're out next, look for the Black ST, almost completely stock looking. If it's next winter, it will probably have a fiberglass top on it.

It seems like there is one of each up here now: green, white, yellow ST's, black ST with a gloss painted HT, and a few SW.

If you've ever driven down cemetary lane, you probably saw a white ST with a fiberglass top, and that's not too far from me.

I was surprised at seeing so many D-90s in that little town! It has to be really funny watching a chick drive down the street in her furs in boyfriend's truck...

Yep. You see everything around here. There are so many RR, RRS, Classics and Disco's it's crazy. I guess the one that really gets me is the RR Sport in that bright orange color with a matching Thule box on top.


Whatever.
